A short, but welcome, update!
Work continues on the Playtest 4 release of Hexingtide, my game of Minimalist Monstrous Roleplaying. After this January’s burnout and letting the project sit on the back burner for most of 2023, I’m excited about the direction this update to the rules is taking.
Clearer language in the rules and concepts. More structure and procedure to gameplay should reduce the repetitive nature of the uber-minimal gameplay from previous playtests. More mechanical levers for GMs and players to pull on to differentiate their characters.
And the change to XP. Stoked about that one.
But you’ll have to wait for all that!
What I can share, however are the completed character sheets.
Take a look and tell me what you notice about the differences between these and the earlier playtests. Anything stick out or is particularly interesting?
